M/B Bitihorn has brought passengers across the Bygdin lake every summer since 1922.
Today, the boat's route goes from Bygdin brygge, via Torfinnsbu, to Eidsbugarden. This is a stunning journey of 1 hour 45 minutes where you can catch a glimpse of many of the over 2000 meter tall mountains in Jotunheimen. M/B Bitihorn departs from Bygdin brygge and returns from Eidsbugarden twice daily. If you book a return ticket, this must be used the same day.
With around 10 000 passengers each season, of which many are on their way to hiking in the mountains, this is a popular route. The boat trip is beautiful crossing the lake, arriving for a possible layover at Eidsbugarden Hotel or the cabin Fondsbu run by the Norwegian Trekking Association.
You can go to Bygdin brygge/Bygdin hotell by Valdresekspressen from Oslo and by Øst-Vestekspressen from Bergen.
