Are you ready for a summer adventure in the Norwegian mountains? The boat MB Bitihorn runs between the Bygdin pier and Eidsbugarden during the summer season, taking you straight to Jotunheimen.

M/B Bitihorn has been running on a regular route every summer since 1912 on Lake Bygdin at 1060 meters above sea level. This year is no exception. The boat trip is a beautiful journey of 1 hour and 45 minutes with views of many of the peaks in Jotunheimen over 2000 meters above sea level. Onboard, you can bring the equipment you need for your mountain trip. Backpacks and bikes are stacked as long as long as there is space available.

With approximately 10,000 passengers during the season, many heading for a great hike in the mountains, MB Bitihorn is a popular choice for tourists visiting Norway. The boat trip is a delightful journey across the water to the starting point for many hikes, Eidsbugarden Hotel, and the DNT cabin Fondsbu. From here, you can continue further into Jotunheimen to cabins such as Gjendebu, Olavsbu, and Memurubu.
Bus to Bygdin hotel
To get to Bygdin brygge, you have the option to choose a scenic bus journey from either Oslo, Lillehammer, or Bergen. The stop at Bygdin Hotel in Vang is only 5 minutes from the boat dock. Book your ticket from Oslo/Fagernes with Valdresekspressen or from Bergen/Lillehammer with Øst-Vestekspressen - you can find the departure times in the travel search.
