At the foot of southern Norway and Telemark's highest mountain, Gaustatoppen, you will find the ski resort Gaustablikk at 960 meters above sea level Gaustablikk is known to open early every year, usually in late October if weather and temperature permitting.

Over the last 15 years Gaustablikk evolved to become a modern ski center, with offers for the whole family. Gaustablikk Ski Centre currently has 12 lifts, including 2 chair lifts and over 30 km of runs of varying dimensions and difficulty levels. Gaustablikk also terrain park, ski school, and ski rental. About 100 km of groomed cross-country trails in all degrees of difficulty are at your disposal. Several of the slopes are floodlit and open for night skiing.

Travel by bus to Gaustablikk:

If you arrive by express bus, get off in Rjukan and take a free ski bus "Fjellbussen" between Rjukan and Destination Gaustadtoppen.

NW185 Rjukanekspressen runs stretch Porsgrunn - Notodden Rjukan Rjukan - Notodden, with correspondence to NX1 Nettbuss express at Notodden for travelers from or to Oslo.
